Summary
December 1941, the last Evacuee Ship out of Darwin is being loaded in the Harbour. Catherine, the last of the evacuees lies in Darwin Hospital giving birth. In just three days she and her baby, with her two other children will kiss her husband good-bye and board the ship with just one suitcase, leaving him to a most uncertain fate. Sixty-three years later, one of those children attempts to come to terms with his own life and returns to the place of his birth to retrace those momentous days.
