Summary

As a city turns against itself, a killer lies in wait in 1920s Munich: Germany remains a country rocked by conflict, sparring political groups threaten chaos and Adolph Hitler's National Socialist Democratic Workers Party gains strength by the day. When homicide detective Axel Berg is called to investigate the grisly murder of a young society wife, he is immediately thrown into a web of dangerous intrigue. Suddenly, senior colleagues have an unprecedented interest in his work and there are rumours that the death, like everything else in Munich, is linked to a political conspiracy. As two more corpses are discovered, Berg questions whether he's searching for a lone lunatic or a calculating assassin with a more sinister agenda.
