Summary

As he lies face down, the last few months pass though his head in a tumult. Above all, the last hours, a bloody nocturnal journey through the underworld of the Revolutionary justice system. Judged by a committee he headed only a few days ago that's part of a system he helped to create. Remorse and relentless second-guessing give way to resentment and rage until the fury turns to self-reproach and in the last moments the intimate memories of family and friends turn, finally, to agony.
