Summary

Set in London in the 1960s and based on Collins's own observations, this novel is a savage indictment of the film business. It looks beyond the glamour to expose the egoism, self-seeking and sexual hypocrisy of boozy models and sadistic producers. It was Mike who had insisted they get married. Cleo, with one bad marriage behind her, would have been happy just to live with him. However, Muffin was not content just to live with Jon: she wants to marry him but he already has a wife.
